Norway, July 17, 2024 – Over 5,500 Scouts and Guides from 38 countries are arriving in Norway this week for the highly anticipated 7th Roverway. Young people ages 16 to 22 will take part in this first outdoor event since the pandemic, which promises to be an enriching blend of adventure, education, and cultural exchange.
The event, being hosted by The Guides and Scouts of Norway, with support from government partners and local authorities, will take place from 22 July to 2 August in Norway. During the first six days of the event, participants will join mini-camps taking place all around Norway. For the second half of the event, young people between the ages of 16 and 22 will have the opportunity to take part in a wide range of educational programmes and outdoor adventure activities that promote peace, sustainability, cross-cultural exchange, and leadership skills at the campsite in Lundsneset, in Hundvåg (Stavanger).

“Roverway is a platform for young people from diverse backgrounds to come together, explore new cultures, and develop crucial leadership skills. It fosters a spirit of unity, sustainability, and global citizenship, empowering the next generation to make a positive impact on the world. We are excited to welcome Scouts and Guides to Norway for this transformative experience." said Simmen Karoliussen, Director of Roverway 2024.

With strong support from government partners and local authorities, Roverway 2024 will be held from July 22 to August 2. The first half of the event, known as "The Path," will see participants embarking on mini-camps scattered across Norway, from July 22 to 27. These 61 mini-camps, engaging over 4,300 young people, will offer immersive experiences of Norway’s natural beauty, rich culture, and historical heritage. Highlights include exploring the world's oldest paddle steamer “Skibladner” on Lake Mjøsa, trekking the ancient Old Kings Route over Dovre, and hiking to glaciers to learn firsthand about climate change.
Participants of Roverway 2018 have a discussion on the topics of diversity and inclusion.
