Effective participation of scouts and guides in Oman with success partners for community service.

The General Directorate of Scouts and Guides in the Sultanate of Oman, in cooperation with government institutions, has launched a number of community initiatives to enable members of the scouting and guiding movement to play leadership roles on the ground, where they have participated in providing logistics support to medical staff in institutional health isolation centers in cooperation with the relief and shelter sector and the competent bodies at governorates.

The Directorate also participated with the Omani Charitable Organization in the isolation areas in Muscat and Matrah, in forming teams of scout and guide leaders as well as rovers, consisting of 300 scout leaders, to provide support and assistance to some areas of health isolation in the two states. These teams delivered and distributed food rations and living needs to the inhabitants. Under the supervision of the relief and shelter sector and in cooperation with the Oman National Transport Company, 20 volunteers and rovers participated in transporting 386 missioned students who completed isolation periods back to their homes in the different provinces. .

A number of scout leaders and rovers participated in the "Purify My Home" campaign aimed at sterilizing (112) mosques in cooperation with Muscat Municipality in Bousher and Al Nabaa Co. for Services. The total number of individual volunteer hours per participant reached 28 hours.

In 2020, the Directorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, launched the National Blood Donation campaign "Drop of Life" at the Central Blood Bank in Boucher state within the partnership to meet the needs of blood bank, with the outbreak Covid-19 pandemic. This campaign resulted in 285 blood donors and 36 qualified volunteers who were properly prepared during the past period to face exceptionally difficult circumstances.
