Safe from Harm Week 2026 mobilises 16 organisations across Interamerica
Sixteen organisations across the region actively joined Safe from Harm Week 2026, promoting a culture of safeguarding in the Scout Movement through social media, training sessions, and activities with young people and adults. Among them: Venezuela, Uruguay, Guatemala, Bolivia, Scouting America, Aruba, El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago, and Colombia.
Panama, Paraguay, Honduras, Costa Rica, and Brazil covered a wide range of topics — from implementing Safe from Harm to emotional wellbeing, bullying prevention, and child protection policies — across more than 25 online sessions that brought together over 1,000 participants. Ecuador offered a dedicated training space for adult volunteers on Safe from Harm in the Scout Movement, welcoming more than 400 attendees.
Peru used the week to launch its National Safe from Harm Course, a resource designed to strengthen prevention, care, and protection for children, young people, and adults within the Scout Movement.
In Paraguay, the Youth Network brought children and young people together through the "Pintata por la Paz y la Salvaguarda" campaign, where young Scouts called on society to create safe spaces within their Scout Groups. Safe from Harm Week also extended beyond screens: Scout Groups from across the region took part in the first-ever Safe from Harm Competition, sharing the activities they organised to promote a culture of safeguarding.
Safe from Harm Week 2026 showed that when the Scout Movement acts together, a culture of safeguarding becomes a tangible reality for children and young people across the region.
