Terms and Conditions

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using this website (“Site”). 

Scope

These Terms and Conditions set out the regulations governing the use of this Site and all the information, documents and materials (“Materials”) by those who may choose to access the Site (“Visitors”), as well as the corresponding relationship between Visitors and the World Scout Bureau, an Association registered in Geneva, Switzerland.

The World Scout Bureau (“WSB”) acts as the secretariat for the World Organization of the Scout Movement (“WOSM”). Their purpose is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities.

The WSB maintains this Site as a courtesy to Visitors. The information presented herein is for informative purposes only. The WSB grants permission to Visitors to visit the Site and to download and copy the Materials from the Site for personal use in accordance with the conditions set forth hereunder.

The following documents (“Connected Documents”) form an integral part of these Terms and Conditions and are fully applicable when visiting and using the Site:

If any inconsistencies should arise between the different legal documents, these Terms and Conditions shall prevail.

Language Versions

These Terms and Conditions and all Connected Documents are originally drafted in English and have thereafter been translated into the other official languages of WOSM. In the event that any translated version of these Terms and Conditions and Connected Documents conflict with the English version, the English version shall prevail.

Acceptance

Upon visiting the Site, the Visitors agree that they have read, understood, accepted, agreed and will continually abide by these Terms and Conditions without any reservation. Consent is deemed issued when the Site is accessed.

The WSB reserves the right to amend, replace and modify these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Therefore the WSB strongly recommends Visitors to consult these Terms and Conditions upon each visit to the Site or use of the Materials. For your convenience, the date and version number of the current version are mentioned above.

In relation to the use of individual services, the WSB may ask Visitors to issue their consent again by clicking on a corresponding confirmation field or tick box and/or to consent to additional terms and conditions.

Website

The WSB administers this Site. All Materials on this Site from the WSB are subject to the present Terms and Conditions.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, the findings, interpretations and conclusions expressed in the Materials on this Site, with the exception of those Materials on the Intranet, are those of the various WSB staff members, consultants and advisors to WOSM who prepared the work and do not necessarily represent the views of WOSM or its Member Organizations.

Neither WOSM nor the WSB is implied in any relationship or transaction established between Visitors and/or third parties through the use of the Site.

Reservation of Rights

The WSB reserves its exclusive right in its sole discretion to alter, limit or discontinue the Site or any Materials in any respect.

The WSB reserves the right to deny in its sole discretion any User ( as defined in the Additional Terms for User Accounts ) access to services, tools, forums and applications provided by this Site or any portion thereof without notice.

No waiver by the WSB of any provision of these Terms and Conditions shall be binding except as set forth in writing and signed by its duly authorised representative.

Disclaimer: Content

While the WSB endeavours to provide accurate Materials on its Site and to the extent permitted by law, it gives no warranty concerning the completeness or accuracy of the material provided by this service. The Materials are provided "as is" without any warranty or implied term of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to any implied warranties, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. 

Visitors should be aware that the Materials may be incomplete, may contain errors or may have become out of date, and should always refer to the originating bodies or departments sourcing the documents for confirmation of the accuracy of the Materials.

Some content is user generated. This content is subject to the specific terms on user generated content as provided in the Additional Terms for User Accounts.

The WSB cannot guarantee that the Site is accessible at all times, in all parts of the World and in a flawless, uninterrupted way. The WSB cannot guarantee that the Site will by fully functional and has no flaws whatsoever; the Site, its Applications and all services provided thereon are provided “as is”. The WSB cannot guarantee that the Site is completely free of any viruses, Trojan horses, phishing, hacking and/or cracking utilities and other malware. Any use of the Materials other than as authorised under this license (CCPL) or copyright law is prohibited.

Trademark

All trademarks, brand names, product names and titles and copyrights used in this Site are trademarks, brand names or copyrights of their respective holders. They are both worldwide well-known marks and registered trademarks in a large range of jurisdictions. They are protected by national and international law through Intellectual Property Protection Treaties and must not be used or reproduced without express permission.

Donations

Financial means can be donated to World Scouting through the Site. 

The Application includes a sliding scale to determine the amount of money you wish to donate. The examples of projects are merely indicative and do not guarantee you in any way that your donation will be reserved for any particular project. 

The beneficiaries of your donations are the World Scout Bureau Association (the legal entity of WOSM), Regional Support Centres, or the World Scout Foundation, depending on the size or selected purpose of your donation.

The World Scout Foundation is a Swiss legal entity with registered offices at Rue Henri-Christiné 5, 1205 Geneva, Switzerland. Please take into account that the World Scout Foundation is a separate legal entity. The World Scout Bureau Association (and hence WOSM) may not be held accountable for any action or decision taken by the World Scout Foundation.

All donations to the World Scout Foundation are subject to the “Terms and Conditions” of the World Scout Foundation, accessible at the following location: worldscoutfoundation.org/page/privacy-policy

Applicable Law & Competent Court

The law of the Swiss Canton of Geneva shall apply exclusively to these Terms and Conditions and any disputes arising under or in connection with the relationship between the WSB and the Visitors.

In case of litigation with regard to the present Terms and Conditions or the use of the Site, the Courts of Geneva (Switzerland) will be exclusively competent.
