World Scouting welcomes Gaza ceasefire

World Scouting welcomes the news of the Gaza ceasefire as a crucial step toward ending violence and alleviating the suffering experienced by countless families and communities. World Scouting extends our solidarity with the people who have been affected by the ongoing conflict, especially children and young people who have endured unimaginable hardships and lost irreplaceable years of education and livelihood.
Throughout the crisis, Scouts have demonstrated extraordinary resilience and commitment to support their communities under incredibly difficult circumstances. From delivering humanitarian assistance to providing safe spaces and educational opportunities to those in need, Scouting has remained a beacon of hope, volunteer service, and compassion.
This ceasefire enables the urgently needed flow of humanitarian assistance into Gaza and is a first step on the long road towards rebuilding communities. We urge all parties to uphold the ceasefire agreement and prioritise the protection and humanitarian needs of children, young people, and families affected. We also urge parties, institutions, and partners to ensure young people’s meaningful participation in all humanitarian and peacebuilding efforts.
