Open Call - Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement
Following the announcement by Scott Teare of his retirement from the position of Secretary General, the World Scout Committee has started to work on the process to select a new person for this important position.
In a recent letter to National Scout Organisations (dated 9 September 2016), we have informed you about the process that the World Scout Committee decided to adopt for the selection of the new Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.
We are now excited to share the Information Pack attached with a Call for Candidates for that position and we urge you to promote it as much as possible within your National Scout Organisation and outside.
We are looking for a competent and skilful man or woman who will be able to provide visionary leadership to the World Scout Bureau, and WOSM at large. To support us in this initiative, if you know someone who can fit the profile indicated in the Information Pack, don’t hesitate to let him or her know about this fantastic opportunity and encourage them to apply.
It can be someone who is already involved in Scouting (as a volunteer or a professional). It can also be someone with management experience in the NGO or business sectors. If you have a name that you think would be good for this position, and should be approached by the Search and Selection Task Force, let us know by emailing search.secgen@yahoo.com.
Please keep in mind that the deadline to present the applications is 7 October 2016.
We encourage you to contribute to this open process in which we want to select the best possible person for the benefit of WOSM and Scouting.
