Central European Jamboree 2024 welcomes more than 1,000 Scouts

In the picturesque surroundings of Mošovce, Slovakia, an important Scouting event, the Central European Jamboree 2024 (CEJ), is taking place this year. From 2 to 9 August, over 1,200 Scouts from Slovakia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland and other countries, not only in Central Europe, gather here to spend a week full of adventures, education and international friendship together.
The main goal of the event is to promote international understanding and cooperation between young people from different cultures and nations. Participants are engaging in a variety of activities that include outdoor challenges, environmental projects, cultural interactions, craft workshops and discussions on global topics.

The event, hosted by Slovenský skauting (Scouting Slovakia), includes a programme not only showcasing traditional Scouting activities but also modern and informal forms of education and entertainment. Among the most interesting points of the programme are night games, rope activities, ecological workshops, concerts and cultural days, where Scouts will present their national traditions and customs.
Various experts, volunteers and guests will also participate in the event, who will contribute to the diversity of the programme and provide young people with inspiring lectures and workshops.
The jamboree is available not only for Scouts but also for the general public. The community has the opportunity to come on a visiting day and thus experience Scouting activities for themselves. The visiting day was held on August 4. During this day, participants tried creative workshops, went on a bicycle tour, explored the beauty of the local nature on a short hike, tried yoga, and also various sports activities right in the event area. The climax of the day will be a concert by Itcho Pčelár, who composed the CEJ 2024 anthem.

The Central European Jamboree is an international Scout meeting that takes place every two years and alternates between the countries of Central Europe. The event brings together Scouts from different countries and offers them the opportunity to get to know each other and cooperate. This meeting is already the sixteenth in a row.
