A Year of Impactful Giving: Scout Donation Platform's Matched Campaign
This past year, the Scout Donation Platform has showcased the remarkable dedication of Scouts worldwide, supported by generous contributions. The unwavering support has enabled Scouts to undertake vital initiatives, such as providing health and wellbeing support, promoting environmental sustainability, fostering peace and community engagement, imparting life skills, and offering emergency relief efforts. Collectively, every donation has made a significant impact, resulting in a total contribution exceeding USD 143,000, benefiting over 20,000 individuals across 18 countries from all five WOSM regions. This milestone underscores the tangible difference that collective support can make in empowering Scouts to drive positive change in communities around the globe.
To celebrate this achievements, the platform is hosting the “Donations matched: Uganda Scouts for Clean Water” initiative, spearheaded by the Uganda Scout Association. This project aims to provide clean and safe water to thousands of households, breaking the cycle of poverty and promoting health and education in communities across Uganda.
It adopts a holistic approach, focusing on sustainable water infrastructure projects such as protected spring wells and borehole drilling. With a matched giving campaign in place, thanks to a generous World Scout Foundation BP Fellow (donor), every donation made to the project, up to USD 7,500, is being matched dollar for dollar, effectively doubling its impact.
