Niger launches preparations for the international solidarity camp "Kouré 2011"

NIAMEY - From 17 to 25 July 2011, an international solidarity camp will be held at Kouri, Niger, under the aegis of the Association des Scouts du Niger. The event will bring together 300 young people aged from 18 to 25 years from various countries. This camp aims to promote youth participation in development through a culture of peace, tolerance and nonviolence.

According to the Chief Commissioner who presided over the launching ceremony, these 300 young participants will make a statement, that will be known as the “Niamey Declaration” and that will be made public in order to raise the youth’s awareness so that they can in turn participate in the promotion of peace.

The Chairperson of the organizing committee said that that camp will be based on the sytem of global development village. The launch attracted several public and private media houses and they widely publicized the event
