Ticket to Life Scouts at Thailand's Klongtoei Wittaya School were trained on Scouts Go Solar. The community of Klongtoei was very welcoming of this opportunity to conduct activities after a long period of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The workshop was combined with fun activities such as sunglass-making, solar art, sundial and compass crafting, cooking through solar energy with solar oven and solar parabolic stove, among other activities.

“It is the first time for them to have this opportunity, they are happy and cheerful doing the activities.” said Ms. Jantra B., Assistant National Coordinator of APR Ticket to Life Project.

Mr. Settanun U. and Ms. Jantra B. led the workshop as National Coordinator and Assistant National Coordinator, respectively. They organised the workshop with National Scout Organization of Thailand’s Solar Ambassador, Mr. Chansak S. The event was also graced by Dr. Somboon B., 2nd Vice-Chairman of the APR Scout Committee, and Mr. Ut Sangjitt, National Commissioner and WOSM Consultant.

Klongtoei Wittaya School, under the supervision of Mr. Sukit K. as the School Manager, provides its students, including Ticket to Life Scouts within the Klongtoei Community, an opportunity to join formal education despite financial and family difficulties.

Since 2006, the flagship project of the Asia-Pacific Region (APR), APR Ticket to Life Project has helped numerous children in especially difficult circumstances to get back on their feet to attend schools and learn life skills through Scouting. In this project, there is no secret ingredient as National Scout Organizations implement their own youth programme in the project.
