Du 27 Juillet au 07 août 2010, l’Association Scoute du Kenya (ASK) a accueilli le 13ème Moot Scout Mondial – la première manifestation du Scoutisme Mondial pour les jeunes à avoir lieu dans la Région Afrique. 1675 scouts de 68 pays y ont participé.
Le troisième Symposium Interreligieux Scout Mondial a été organisé à l’hôtel Africana à Kampala (Ouganda) du 21 au 25 octobre 2009. Il a rassemblé plus de 80 participants de 30 pays appartenant à diverses confessions et religions, à savoir : baha’is, bouddhistes, anglicans, catholiques, luthériens, orthodoxes, protestants, hindous, musulmans, juifs, animistes africains, sikhs et bouddhistes won.

Education et Mouvement Scout Mondial : Expériences et Défis
(Mise à jour 22 Février 2012) Pour marquer le Centenaire du Scoutisme, l'OMMS avait lancé un projet afin de construire une base de connaissances pour toutes les personnes qui se livrent à un processus d'apprentissage collectif sur le Scoutisme. La première étape de ce projet était l'organisation d'un congrès scientifique mondial. Le résultat est le fruit du travail de chercheurs, d'universitaires, de représentants de l'ONU et d'ONG et bien sûr des contributions de responsables scouts.
La 39e Conférence Mondiale du Scoutisme a eu lieu du 10 au 14 Janvier 2011. Organisée par União dos Escoteiros do Brasil (Association des Scouts du Brésil), elle a été suivi par 918 participants de 138 pays.

We all expected the closing ceremony to be something extraordinary. After a fantastic Jamboree with superb shows throughout, it just had to be!
On the night of the 6th August the grand finale began, with the theme ‘Solidarity’ and plenty of rumours about what was to come. Situated at an all new stage with a view from every side, the conditions were set for a fantastic show.

The Jamboree is not only about activities, Camp in Camp and big events; much more is happening all around the campsite as part of the daily life at the Jamboree. The everyday life is conducted in every Subcamp, and the Towns are summing with life much of the time.

Safe from Harm, conference on the issue of child protection, held on the Jamboree site. Quest, People, Global Development Village, Dream, Earth, the Module Activities have names to spark your imagination. Young Correspondents from Switzerland and Brazil had the honour of interviewing a secret member of the Swedish Royal Family.

Ramadan at the Jamboree, Ramadan is considered the month of Quran and Charity and whoever fasts receives great rewards. During Ramadan, Muslims perform lots of religious rituals, like reading the Quran more often, performing Taraweeh prayers every night of Ramadan after Ishaa prayer (night prayer). Also Muslims increase doing good deeds and paying charity to needy people and pay Zakat (fourth pillar of Islam) as it has double rewards during this month.

It’s arrivals day and Scouts are joining the Jamboree from all over the world. Some arrived early to help; others had been delayed by weather, lost luggage and transport issues. All seem happy to be at the site and excited about what the next two weeks hold for them.

Discovering
Rovers departed for expedition centres outside Nairobi. They had a rich experience interacting with local communities. They learned new skills. They did good turns in schools and for the environment. After an exciting four days, it was time to re-unite at Rowallan camp for another six days of fun, learning and friendship

Excitement galore engulfed the opening ceremony. Participants drowned in a celebratory mood as they witnessed the kicking off of the first ever World Scout Moot in Africa. Then it was time to depart for the various expedition centres for a four day adventure of ultimate discovery.

Excitement is mounting in Kenya where hundreds of international service volunteers,together with key personnel from the World Scout Bureau and scores of adult leaders from the Kenya Scouts Association are mobilizing themselves and preparing various expedition centres for the arrival of 1,500 rover scouts from all over the world who will take part in the 13th World Scout Moot, the first event of its kind on the african continent.
En ce début de 2010, c’est mon privilège de vous souhaiter la bienvenue dans l’année du Moot Scout Mondial, le premier à avoir lieu sur sol Africain. Près de 3000 jeunes adultes du monde entier vont se réunir cette année au Kenya pour partager ce que nous appelons affectueusement dans le langage scout un Moot.
En participant au Moot, vous pourrez vous faire de nouveaux amis du monde entier et pleinement apprécier une grande diversité d’activités éducatives et amusantes. Alors que vous prendrez part à ces instants privilégiés, vous serez émerveillés par la beauté du Kenya, le pays où le Fondateur Lord Baden-Powell a choisi de finir sa vie.

Bienvenue au Kenya - Karibu Kenya
La première édition du Bulletin du 13e Moot Scout Mondial, qui se déroulera du 27 juillet au 7 août 2010 au Kenya, vient de paraître. Ce bulletin fournit une mise à jour des dispositions prises en vue de préparer l’événement.
Un large éventail d’activités passionnantes et stimulantes ont été conçues pour les participants au 13e Moot Scout Mondial au Kenya. Le Moot offre une excellente opportunité à tous les participants de s’amuser tout en en apprenant davantage sur le Scoutisme au sein du groupe, de la nation et à travers d’autres pays. Ce sera l’occasion de démontrer comment le Scoutisme peut “faire la différence” aux niveaux local, national et international.

Tous les trois ans, l’organe de décision du Scoutisme mondial se réunit pour évaluer le passé récent et imaginer le futur immédiat.Depuis 1922, cette succession de rencontres a dessiné le destin unique d’un mouvement de jeunesse unique.
La projection vers l’avenir du Mouvement Scout, dépend d’une vision universelle, laissée en héritage par Lord Baden-Powell : Créer un monde meilleur.
Ce rapport de conférence rend compte des débats et des décisions prises durant la première conférence du nouveau siècle Scout.
The 21st World Scout Jamboree was an amazing experience, made even more special because it took place in 2007 – the Centenary of Scouting. We had the privilege of leading the planning, preparation and organisation of the Jamboree, but there is no doubt in our minds that it was only with the enthusiasm and huge efforts of many others – too numerous to list here – that nearly 30,000 young people had a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience.

Genève 16 – 17 Novembre 2007
Cent ans après sa création, le Mouvement scout mondial a souhaité s’interroger sur ses pratiques, ses méthodes, sa pédagogie. Dans le cadre des événements du Centenaire, un Congrès scientifique a donc été programmé et s’est déroulé à Genève les 16 et 17 novembre 2007.
Ce document a pour but de donner une première photographie de ce Congrès avant que les Actes ne soient publiés.
