The European Scout Region has made available a basic registration software system originally developed by Lietuvos Skautija, Lithuanian Scouting. The system is free for National Scout Organisations who are interested in using it.
Another important step has been recently taken to give to more Scouts the chance to visit Kandersteg International Scout Centre and experience the Permanent Mini-Jamboree!
The WOSM – European Region and the Europe Region WAGGGS jointly are now launching a European Voluntary Service project where some young volunteers from all around Europe will offer their time and service with the aim to ensure support to MOs and NSOs in the preparations and implementation of 2011, the European Year of Volunteering.
Twenty years ago the UN adopted the Convention of the Rights of the Child. This means that for 20 years children around the world have certain rights that must be respected. To celebrate this anniversary, the European Commission has launched a poster competition with the winning entries receiving the chance to travel to Brussels to receive the award!!!

The United Nations is organising a competition to create an advertisement for the information campaign on the Millennium Development Goals. The aim of this competition, organised by the United Nation European Ads Against Poverty, is to encourage talents in advertising, graphic design, marketing or any related fields and to stimulate world leaders to confirm the promises made in 2000. Inspire people and involve them in the work to fight against poverty to reduce it, reduce hunger worldwide and reach the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. Deadline for applications is 15 June 2010!
Scouts and Guides all over Poland are providing help during all the events in Warsaw to commemorate victims of the government plane crash in Smolensk (Russia) on Saturday, April 10th. All 96 passengers including Lech Kaczynski, President of Poland, his wife, many other political, religious, military officials and civil servants were killed on their way to a Katyn massacre memorial service. Among them there were our friends, Scouts, and the officials honoured with the title ‘Reliable Friend of Scouting’.
Junak – the Association of Scouts and Guides of the Czech Republic is looking for a motivated young international volunteer that would like to commit for the development of Scouting in the Czech Republic, in particular joining and supporting the International Team.
Also in 2010 the European Scout Region has been granted with an important financial support for its work and administration of the Brussels office from the EU Commission through the Youth in Action Programme and from the Council of Europe through the European Youth Foundation.
On April 23-25 European youth organisations met in Brussels on the occasion of the European Youth Forum’s (YFJ) Council of Members. Based on the proposal of European Scouting the Forum adopted a set of priorities for the International Youth Year 2010, proclaimed by the United Nations.

The African University on Youth and Development (AUYD) took place from 4 to 12 July in Cape Verde and brought together approximately 150 Youth leaders, mainly from Africa and Europe.
The University, organised by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe and its partners, provided the opportunity for youth organisations and their elected representatives to meet together in order to share experiences and knowledge, and to learn and contribute in the various sessions and training courses.
This learning space proved to be a successful example for the possibilities of the implementation of the Africa-EU Strategic partnership.

50 Participants from all around Europe met at Guadarrama, near Madrid, Spain for the Training Commissioners Network Meeting. A very intensive and active event produced a lot of exchanges and new ideas for work and cooperation.
More than 100 representatives from Youth Organizations and National Youth Councils met about the same number of governmental and institutional delegates and discussed together how the dramatic situation of youth un-employment in Europe can be tackled in order to improve life conditions for the young people.
Un jeu de société pour les jeunes à jouer en patrouille.
"Parmi tous les éléments spécifiques à la Méthode scoute, le Système de patrouille est le plus important parce qu’il souligne l’éducation des pairs et la collaboration et parce qu’il renforce les compétences sociales, le leadership et l’engagement dans le prise de décisions. Le “Jeu de patrouille” est un jeu de société qui peut se jouer à deux patrouilles, ou plus, de la tranche d’âge des Scouts. Ce jeu vise à apprendre à mieux se connaître en équipe tout en examinant les points faibles et les points forts de l’équipe.
Depuis le tout début de sa conception, l’Académie s’est développée à plusieurs niveaux. La dernière édition a rassemblé plus de 200 participants, qui ont participé à de nombreuses opportunités d’apprentissage réparties en 25 sessions différentes.
Les Scouts de Slovénie ont été très attristés à l’annonce de la mort de Miloš Miovic, le plus vielle personne à avoir participé au 21ème Jamboree Scout mondial en 2007. Il est décédé le 1ernovembre à Maribor, en Slovénie. L’énergie qu’il générait, la sagesse qu’il dégageait et les remarques pleines d’esprit qu’il formulait nous ont laissé sans voix. Il était et restera une réelle source d’inspiration.
Une formation pour les formateurs de quatre jours a été organisée du 3 au 7 novembre 2011 dans un ancien monastère de St. Joakim Osogovski, à proximité de la ville de Kriva Palanka, dans la partie nord-est de l’Ancienne République yougoslave de Macédoine.
Durant le week-end du 6 au 8 novembre, Bandalag íslenskra skáta (BIS) a tenu une "Académie nationale" dans leur centre de formation de Laugar in Saelingsadl. Environ 100 responsables ont participé à ce week-end, représentant tous les groupes scouts d’Islande. Les ateliers proposés couvraient différents sujets, laissant un espace de temps assez long entre les sessions pour permettre aux participants de se connaître et de discuter des enjeux et des opportunités mutuels.
