Le Comité de liaison ONG-UNESCO a organisé la “Journée Internationale des ONG” lundi 5 décembre 2011 ayant eu lieu à la Maison de l’UNESCO à Paris. Le programme de cette journée consacrée aux ONG a mis l’accent sur les « Nouvelles Directives concernant les relations ONG-UNESCO » adoptées par la 36e Conférence Générale de l’UNESCO (octobre-novembre 2011). Des représentants d’ONG ont été invités à discuter des perspectives pour une coopération renforcée ONG-UNESCO dans le contexte des nouvelles directives.

Le volontariat a toujours été au cœur du Mouvement Scout depuis sa création il y a plus d'un siècle. Cela s’est reflété au fil des ans par notre système de formation en constante amélioration, par notre soutien et par la récompense des bénévoles, aux niveaux local et mondial du Mouvement. Aujourd'hui encore, l'OMMS est l'une des très rares organisations travaillant avec les enfants et les jeunes, à fonctionner presque entièrement grâce aux contributions et efforts des volontaires.

In 2005, the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol ( CMP) at its first meeting in Montreal, by its Decision 1/CMP.1, established the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP). The aim of the AWG-KP is to discuss future commitments for industrialized countries under the Kyoto Protocol. The AWG-KP reports directly to the CMP.

In addressing the delegates to the conference, as part of the Youth Constituent statement, Quintin Combrink from South Africa Scout Association (SASA) said, “Climate change is the moral issue facing both my and your generation….young people here doubt the political will of parties.” He called for a second commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, which will last for 5 years or less and for it to start by January 2013. He closed firmly by saying that, “the youth are watching, we are listening and we will be acting.”

The environment is our playground and we are sharing with the tens of thousands of international non-governmental and governmental delegates at the event how scouting has always cared for the planet, not because we had to, but rather, simply that we are in the business of creating a better world.

Cada minuto, ocho personas en todo el mundo huyen de sus hogares para escapar de conflictos o persecuciones.

Para crear conciencia sobre este problema, el ACNUR ha lanzado su aplicación de acción comunitaria #add1voice en Facebook y Twitter este jueves 24 de noviembre.

El objetivo de la aplicación es inspirar a la gente en todo el mundo para añadir su propia voz a la campaña para juntos decirle al mundo que aunque sólo fuese una persona obligada a huir de su hogar, ya es demasiado.

La Organización Mundial del Movimiento Scout (OMMS), en conjunto con el Consulado de Guías y Scouts de Suecia (Scouterna) organizó una conferencia de un día el 1ero de agosto de 2011 en el telón del 22 Jamboree Scout Mundial a cerca de cómo mantener niños a salvo del peligro.

Cómo sería el mundo si fuera diseñado por Scouts? Si puedes dejar volar tú imaginación y traer nuevas especies a la vida, cómo serían?
Cómo podemos hacer la diferencia en nuestras casas para vivir en un mundo más armonioso para la gente y la naturaleza?

Estas son algunas de las preguntas que los Scouts se cuestionan en los talleres que hay en IUCN (UICN, unión internacional de conservación de la naturaleza) como parte de la Aldea Global de Desarrollo (AGD) en el 22 Jamboree Scout Mundial en Suecia.

Every year the world celebrates World Environment Day (WED) on the 5th of June. This is an occasion for all scouts around the world to demonstrate their commitment to preserving the environment.

This year, WED supports the UN’s International Year of Forests with the theme: "Forests: Nature at Your Service" which underscores the many essential life-sustaining values that forests provide and the intrinsic link between our quality of life and the health of forest ecosystems.

2011 will mark the celebration of the fourth-year of Alliance Jointly with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Clean Up the World (CUW) and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM).

The campaign runs for a calendar year and has an annual focus celebrated globally on the third weekend in September. This year, CUW Weekend will be held on 16-17 September under the theme:
"Our Place…Our Planet…Our Responsibility".

Aujourd'hui, 8 mars 2011, nous célébrons le 100ème anniversaire de la Journée Internationale de la Femme. Cette journée de commémoration annuelle est une occasion unique de célébrer la femme dans sa globalité.

Le thème de cette année est « L'égalité d'accès à l'éducation, à la formation, à la science et à la technologie : voie vers un travail décent pour les femmes ».

L'Organisation Mondiale du Mouvement Scout aimerait profiter de cette journée pour remercier toutes les femmes volontaires qui sont engagées à soutenir le Scoutisme à travers le monde.
