VI Encuentro Centroamericano de Sección Menor, Avatar, celebrado del 31 de marzo al 4 de abril, en el Campo Escuela Nacional Iztarú, Costa Rica.
With the presence of over 100 participants in the Scout House of Paraguay,it began the implementation of the recently modified Social Statute, where is highlighted the representativeness of the youth and parents of scouts who are able to vote in the National Assembly.
The Scout Association of Venezuela hosted the Second Meeting of the Andean subregion of the Youth Program Network. From 27 to 29 of february, 2012, representatives of National Scout Organizations from Colombia, Ecuador and the host Venezuela, worked with the Youth Programme Director of the World Scout Bureau - Interamerican Region in the analysis of topics of vital importance for the development of the Youth Program of the Region.
It was developed in the framework of the Educational Methods Meeting of the Central Subregion.
2013 will mark 100 years of scouting. Scouting reached the Bahamas late in 1912 when Miss Evelyn Lobb who as a member of the staff at government house, and was instrumental on forming the first Scout Troop. On march 19 of 1913 the Bahamas received its chárter from the UK, and was named The Bahamas Branch Boy Scout´s Association.
With a view to changing the Scout Constitution of the Paraguay Scout Association (ASP) of which Sr. Pablo R, Mendez Frutos is President, an Extraordinary National Assembly was held on 3rd and 4th March 2012.
REDUCING DEVIANT BEHAVIOUR THROUGH SCOUTING
The beautiful city of Panama again became the heart of the Interamerican Region because it was the venue for the VIII Interamerican Scout Summit 2012.
The shinny sun , the sea breeze and especially the Scout brotherhood were the ingredients that made this Summit a success.
On February 25, 2012 over 1400 scouts from all around El Salvador went to the plaza dedicated to the founder, to celebrate his 155 birthday.
The celebration was attended by members of World Scouting, including the adviser of the Prince of Saudi Arabia, Saaed Al Dosary, Mr. Abdullah Alfahad, World Scout Committee member and Deputy Director of the World Scout Foundation, Mark Knippenger.
Distinguished authorities of the World Scouting visited El Salvador for the official launch of the "Messengers of Peace" program, a project that promotes a culture of peace among young people.

In order to promote a culture of peace in the world, El Salvador has been chosen to host the first global program "Messengers of Peace", which has been created by the World Scout Association to provide tools to young people in social risk situations, to create better environments free of violence.

All are prepared for hiking up the Agua Volcano at the "Climb for Life” that it’s going to be held on Saturday January 21 in order to fight against domestic violence, for this appointment could not miss the giant with his best clothes.
Scouts from three different Brazilian states travelled great distances to assist a ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) in setting up camps, providing emergency shelter to families made homeless by recent floods and mudslides in eastern Brazil.
For the third time in two years, Brazilian scouts were prepared to help ShelterBox deliver aid to displaced people in need of shelter, even if it meant travelling long distances through the night. Thirty scouts from Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Minas Gerais joined forces with the SRT and local volunteers to help put up ShelterBox tents in the devastated areas of Japamapará and Além Paraíba. In two swelteringly hot days, tents became homes for around 70 families.
On January 21st Chairman Michael Bradshaw, two Vicechairmen Fernando Brodeschi and Kent Clayburn and members of the Interamerican Scout Committee Rafe Lucado, Gilberto Mendoza and Steve Kent visited the Regional Office for the first meeting with the new team of Directors.
Oaxaca Mexico, November 21st
4000 Scouts from all the regions of Mexico participated at the Art and Expression Encounter in Oaxaca, with the objective of make the Scouting more known by the local society.
The young girl Tatiana Cuadra Bermúdez received the recognition of "Scouts of the World" she is the first Scout to achieve this recognition in Central America for their commitment to the environment develop.
In occasion of the signing of the law that declares as Meritorious Institution at the Guides and Scouts of Costa Rica, Guides and Scouts Costa Rica Asociation declared as honorary member at Mr. Ricardo Martinellli President of Panama and honorary President of the Association at Mrs. Laura Chinchilla President of Costa Rica.
Days prior to his participation in the Meeting of the Interamerican Scout, our Secretary General, Luc Panissod visited Venezuela to conduct various meetings and activities with the Scouts de Venezuela.
The city of Quito, Ecuador was the venue for this meeting which was attended by leaders of the Scout Association Scouts of Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
From 11 to 13 November was held the meeting with the participation of scout leaders from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
The City of Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago received the members of the ISC for its third regular session of 2011. This time also were: the Secretary General of the World Scout Movement, Luc Panissod, members of the World Scout Committee, Karin Ahlbak and John Neysmith, John Philpot representing the Conference of Caribbean Chief Commissioners and Daniel Simoncic, member of the Organizing Committee of World Scout Moot, Canada 2013.
The Central American subregion undertook a course of "second level" at Iztarú Camp School of the Guides and Scouts of Costa Rica.
Again, the leaders of Scouting in Central America met to hold its summit.
INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

On the past october 22 th , José Adolfo López Sampsom Félix resigned as Chief Scout of Mexico so to suit his interests, that day the National Board appointed Ana Lorena Gudiño Valdez as the new Chief Scout of Mexico, she is the first woman in the Scout Movement in Mexico to hold this position.
Last Thursday 1st September, the Costa Rican government declared the Guides and Scouts Association a Meritorious Institution. This is the highest governmental distinction that can be given to an Institution. The Costa Rican congress based its decision on all the social labour Guides and Scouts Association has done to educate children and teenagers, teaching them the value of life, of life outdoors and on services rendered to the community.
For the Guides and Scouts Association of Costa Rica, this achievement represents a big support from the Costa Rican state, and a compromise to keep working for the children and the youth of our country.

Before the World Scout Jamborre I attended the 14th International Youth Gathering for Cultural Exchange, here in Egypt, as a member of WOSM I think this kind of event, for rovers, it's a great opportunity to hear our root level members, and the results are amazing, a lot of opportunities to share and learn, a really nice agenda to empowering young adults and create a network focusing in a culture for peace. And of course, a country as Egypt, by itself is amazing and fascinating!
On April 8th 2011, as the 20th Chief Scout of Canada, the General Governor of Canada expressed his commitment to work for the benefit of the Scout Movement and the “Association des Scouts du Canada”, in the presence of Mr. Jean-François Champagne, President of the Association and Mr. Robert Nowlan, National Commissioner and head of the Association.
As Chief Scout of Canada, he has accepted to preside the national decorations ceremonies, which recognise Scouts that have distinguished themselves through unparalleled projects or though their exemplary career.
Scotiabank, through its Brighter Future Programme, has donated 12 computers to the Trinidad & Tobago Scouts Association. The presentation took place on the 10th of February at the association’s headquarters, St Ann’s.
The bank’s public and corporate affairs manager, Adrian Raymond, said Scotiabank recognised the importance of technology in engaging youths and was happy and honoured to perform the bank’s corporate social responsibility by assisting the Scouts Association with computers.
