CNV team visits Thailand

The Regional Scout Committee, the one behind the Committee NSO Visit program, continues to meet key leaders of National Scout Organizations in the region and together look into the ways of enhancing the quality of Scouting.

The National Scout Organization of Thailand was the fifth NSO visited by the CNV team consist of Regional Chairman Jejomar C Binay, Vice-Chairman M.A. Khalid, Members Mr Prakorb Mukura and Mr Oh Sang Gyoon. The team met with NSOT Secretary General Boonrat Wongyai, Mr Sutham Phanthusak, and other NSOT key leaders from 27th to 29th September 2008 in Pattaya, Thailand.

In the three-day meeting, discussions focused on the working set-up of NSOT and its future activities, the recent Scout Act that came into effect on 5th March 2008 giving NSOT a broader mandate to manage their own resources and the new youth programme to be implemented in 2009.

The regional office was represented by Regional Director Abdullah Rasheed and Syd Castillo.

The CNV mission is an on-going activity of the Regional Scout Committee which began in March this year.
