The National Organization Scout Tily Eto Madagasikara alongside the victims of the cyclone Chedza.
According to the latest report from the BNGRC (National Office of risk management and disaster), the cyclone Chedza in Madagascar from 16 to 18 January 2015 made 51 dead and nearly 130,857 victims in the Big Island which nearly 55,059 in the capital. A disastrous record involving all the active energies of the Big Island.
The agglomeration of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, has been seriously impacted by the cyclone. BNGRC, the Red Cross, governments and dozens of associations have mobilized throughout Madagascar to help the victims. Scouts, Tily Eto Madagasikara, brought their bricks building since last weekend (17-18 and 24-25 January) by investing clustering disaster sites.
Rover, pioneers, leaders and commissioners of the association were mobilized by the national organization and its regional branches to lend strong hands to public authorities, just after the cyclone through action "Reaching out 2015". In Antananarivo, in the right currency Scout "always ready", nearly 500 scouts have allied with the relevant authorities to the venues for cyclone victims families to put their experience, their dynamism, and willingness in completion of good deeds.
The administrative (host and identify victims), counting, manage and distribute donations to families and neighborhoods to the purely technical and physical (set up the tents, help the victims to move their affairs to the home sites, transport donations (bag of rice, beans, charcoal, oil, cardboard, various kitchen utensils ...), to the human (discussion, moral support and games with the children), these scouts took about 18,000 hours of community service during the four days of action.
After this first step done, the National Committee and all regional committees have established "crisis cells", consisting of young scouts ready at any time to respond and prevent as far as possible the risks:
1 / by keeping informed of weather movements in the country, and alerting the authorities as soon as possible in case of danger;
2 / identifying areas at risk and encourage residents to leave or to take precautions;
3 / by standing ready to mobilize when needed as much about the home sites of the victims than on other places on which they will be required. All other scouts from the Cubs are expected to incorporate urgently within their program of awareness of the risks involved in this time and good security actions to be taken in the coming weeks, until the end of the period rain. The National Committee and its regional branches, also encourage all members to start collecting donations for a future community action.
