This years Agora took place from the 10th to the 14th of April in Kandersteg, Switzerland. Agora, meaning a meeting place, It is an annual event, hosted by the European Scout Region which gathers Rovers from all around Europe to come together and discuss all things Rover and much more. It is a unique event as it is run by Rovers for Rovers.
The weekend of 5 to 7 April 2013 was designated to the European Scout Symposium when the European Region would meet, review progress on its current Regional Plan, consider the impact of World issues, contributions from other Regions and other partners organisations so that they could make initial proposals for the next Regional Scout Plan.
The International Commissioners’ Forum 2012 was held in Athens from the 6th to the 9th of December, under the motto “Making the Connections”. It was an honour and a pleasure for the Greek Guiding Association and the Greek Scout Association to act as hosts for the International Commissioners of WOSM European Region and WAGGGS – Europe Region.
134 Scouts and Guides from more than 40 different countries gathered at the 5th Academy at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre. Together with them more than 40 workshops facilitators and planning and host team members as well as the famous KISC Pinkies made this event an unforgettable experience. 30 different sessions on the overall theme “Embracing change” offered an attractive learning environment.
Eurosea 11, the European Sea Scout seminar held 19-23 September 2012 when 41 leaders from 19 countries representing 21 national scout associations and 4 of the worlds regions gathered in Copenhagen for 5 days of networking.
We are pleased to present to you the Annual Report of the European Scout Committee’s work covering the period July 2011 to July 2012. This report is an overview of progress being made with the implementation of the Regional Scout Plan and Resolutions from the 20th European Scout Conference.
10 Arab and 7 European Scouts have shared their cultures and ideas during 4 days at the Evo Camp, during the Roverway, from 24 to 28 July! Better understanding each other, contributing to the post 2015 Millennium Development Goals process and creating new friendships were the agenda of this Euro-Arab workshop.
18'093 Scouts and Guides came to Jambville (France) from 27 to 31 July, for the "Vis Tes Rêves" (live your dreams) Jamboree. 15'000 young people from the 11-14 age section, supported by over 3,000 adults were in attendance representing all regions of France with international participants from Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain the United Kingdom and Canada.
23 Scouts from 13 countries participated in the Speak out, tell your story! - Young Spokesperson Training in Ghent, Belgium. During the training, they developed their skills and gained knowledge to enable them to represent the Scout Movement.
