Scouts from Kampala visit Mombasa and Nyeri
A group of Ugandan Scouts set off from Kampala to Mombasa, Kenya on 8 December 2008. The theme for this adventure was “Developing a Sense of Responsibility and Self-reliance”. During the adventure Scouts were expected to learn how to take care of themselves in a responsible way in varying circumstances.
In Mombasa, Ugandan Scouts joined their Kenyan comrades in the celebrations of Kenya’s independence. On this occasion, they paraded alongside their Kenyan Sea Scouts comrades and close partners. Scouts also visited the quayside, the historical Fort Jesus and Bamburi Park.
From Mombasa, the group went to Nyeri on 16 December to visit Baden Powell's former home (PAXTU). The group had 12 leaders, 21 venture scouts , 22 juniors.
