Director of External Relations and Funding

Location: Brussels, Belgium Duration: 3 years

The mission of Scouting is to contribute to the education of young people through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individually and play a constructive role in society.

The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) comprises more than 28 million members, operating through 160 national organisations in 219 countries and territories, through a system of local groups.

The European Region, one of the 6 regional organisations, is looking for a dynamic individual to join the regional team as Director of External Relations and Funding who will be responsible for:

1. Representing Scouting and WOSM to the European Institutions
2. Supporting the profiling of Scouting through and with National Scout Organisations
3. Developing and supporting volunteer support groups
4. Maintaining and developing existing and new relationships and partnerships
5. Managing the European Regional Office (Brussels) and any related staff

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication and motivational skills, will be able to work on their own initiative and will have at least 2 years of relevant experience in this important representation role.

This contract is for a period of three years. This may be renewable.
