After more than one year of work, the “Action for Growth” report was launched at the European Scout Conference two weeks ago in Slovenia.

During a meeting of the European Scout Region at the 38th World Scout Conference in Jeju, Korea, the European Scout Committee took the opportunity to present its Annual Review covering the period from June 2007 to June 2008.

Each year, in conjunction with the Europe Region WAGGGS, the European Scout Region prepares a series of events to support Scouting and Guiding in Europe.

Managing Adult Resources encompasses the processes associated with the management of adults, following recruitment. This touches training, but is more concerned with retention, recognition, the continuous motivation and the use of the final phase in the Adults in Scouting model.

Background
In response to resolution (9/2007) expressed by 19th Scout Conference this event will deliver a focussed and integrated solution to the needs of NSOs. The event will cover a range of flexible and focussed support giving participants the valuable opportunity to network within and between areas of work. The content will consist of stimulating topics of great relevance to Scouting including innovation and new methods.
The event is organised over a week, from Monday to Sunday. Participants are free to arrive anytime during the event, according to the modules they plan to attend. The Academy will consist of different modules allowing participants to choose their own learning experience and time commitment.

This Toolkit is the basic support resource offered by the WOSM – European Region resulting from four workshops run by the Region between 2006 and 2008. The toolkit aims to help associations to design or renew their training systems.

The Lands of Adventure programme for young people aged 11-16 will provide inspiration, guidelines and examples of good practice for National Scout Associations in order to develop their programme and relevant tools. (European Scout Region Strategic Plan 1998 -2007)
