Education For All Task Team

Education For All task team is a sub-group of Educational Methods Committee (EMC), working in specific areas related to Strategic Priority 4: 'Reaching Out' - breaking down barriers and working with all segments of society.

Who !

The task team is composed of representatives from working groups of different Scouting Regions or networks, working on Scouting and marginalized young people. The group also consists of Scout leaders having a good experience of working with marginalized youth and Youth advisors of the WSC.

Why !

The key work of Education For All task team is to develop guidelines and offer support to help NSOs break down barriers, which prevent marginalized youth (socially deprived young people or young people with special needs) to benefit from Scouting. The task team also aims to develop a network in order to help NSOs to share their experience and good practice in this field.

How !

The task team usually works by email with the support of an Internet community created and facilitated by the World Scout Bureau. Meetings of some or all members of the task team are sometimes organised, especially to accomplish specific tasks. This task team has so far produced two sets of Guidelines, created awareness activities for Scouts at the centennial World Scout Jamboree in UK (2007) and supported the production of an E-learning tool on keeping Scouts safe from harm (child protection).
