31. Mei 2013 - 2:00

"Following up on what's new in the field of Media & Communications is considered as the most important challenge for the work undertaken in the named field within the Scout Movement at Arab Regional level.” That was how Mr. Dafer Al- Tamimi, Media Commissioner of Tunisia Scout Association, started his opening speech during the inauguration of the Training Course for the National Executives responsible for Media and Communications in Tunisia.

The event was organised in South Tunisia with some 38 participants representing 21 Scout associations taking part. The course focused mainly on audiovisual media for their important role in modern day media. The practical skills of the participants relating to the actual activities matched the topics of the course, the programme of which included how to effectively and efficiently communicate through radio and television programmes. Field visits were paid to the national television, Hannibal TV, and the national radio and broadcast Sun MF where live participations have been organised in various programmes on television and the radio.

Apart from this event, the National Committee of Media & Communications held a meeting where an evaluation of its achievements was conducted, as well as of the forthcoming events which will be hosted by Tunisia Scout Association, including the Arab Moot and the National Conference, which were also discussed.

In media awareness campaigns, Al Morouge Scout group organised a seminar on working against the drugs increase in schools, where the participants had to eventually produce two reports which were to be broadcast on national radio and Tonnisya Channel.

At the Closing Ceremony, the General Commissioner of the Tunisia Scout Association paid tribute to the leaders who had contributed to the success of the National Media Commission for several years, followed by a constructive discussion on the challenges facing the media and the role of those responsible in delivering the good and true picture of the Scout Movement in Tunisia.
