The Youth Cultures have to “sit for an exam” in the last edition of the Iberoamerican Magazine for Youth

1st Jan 2009

One of the main items dealt with in the last edition of the Iberoamerican Magazine for the Youth, destined to “Youth cultures” and edited by the Iberoamerican Organization of Youth (IOY/OIJ), is to reflect on the multiple cultural expressions of the Iberoamerican youth and how they influence in their respective communities.

Number 8 of this magazine includes, amongst others, a reflection on the culture as a way of escape in the conflict in Colombia, written by the ex-major of Medellin, Sargio Fajardo; an interview to the Minister of Education of Colombia, Ms. Paula Marcela Moreno, who makes reference to the importance of the youth cultures in the development of a community; and a series of reflections that give a pluralist view about the origins and evolution of the Youth Cultures since their beginnings until nowadays, in charge of Rogelio Marcial, Carles Feixa, José Machado, Maria Gladys Mathieu and Marcel Thèza.

The edition is closed by an interview dedicated to the First Iberoamerican Campaign of sensibilization against Gender Violence NOILLTREATMENT, promoted by the Iberoamerican Organization of Youth, OIJ/IOY, together with the Iberoamerican General Office, SEGIB/IBGEOF, in the 22 countries that form the Iberoamerican Community. More than 150 iberoamerican youths, coming from very different youth cultures that joined to say NO to gender violence, have participated together with famous faces of the culture, sport and spectacle.

The magazine is available at “Publicaciones” (Publications) at the web site www.oij.org or can be downloaded at http:www.oij.org/documentons/REvista1255074828.pdf
