Prabuhi Campaign for Right To Know Day 2013

30th Sep 2013

We commemorate Right to Know Day; 28th of September 2013, for we believe in the same spirits and campaign; that everyone has the right to access public information and literature.
It's been quite hard to make some people understand well our goals in Reading Volunteering. For some; our main activity in reading for others are merely wasting of time. On the opposite, we definitely believe our programs are the best investment in supporting well development of our society, for having access on written information, written knowledge and literatures are human's right.
That's why we decide to wholeheartedly commemorate this day: Right to Know Day; 28 September.
This 1st commemoration is held in 3 cities.
In Bandung Region, we gather 350 scouts to read, sing and walk 10 Kilometres from their school of SMAN 11 Bandung to Bandung's Scout Park where they form "Right to Know Day" and yell the campaign: "Access to public information and literature is part of human right!!"
In Jakarta Region, more than 40 scouts read and spread the poster "You have Right to Know" in Kanal Banjir Timur, East Jakarta.
In Sukabumi Region, we read, retell and held a Pecha Kucha in the same campaign.
We will continue in spreading this campaign of giving access to written public information, written knowledge and literatures along our endless program of Prabuhi; Indonesian Reading Volunteering Scouts.
Happy Right to Know Day!
