Project

Beautification of Rivercity Park

29th Mar 2013

The beautification of the Rivercity Nature Park in DeBary was a Scout project to improve a local, little known, park. I coordinated with the City of DeBary for 3 months in planning, including location, fundraising for all items, and finally execution of the project.

We installed 10 large bat boxes to control the large mosquito populations that were rampart in the area. We also improved the area by trimming trees and bushes, and generally beautifying the area. We repaired broken pipes and filled in holes, as well as reparied frisbee golf course goals.

We recieved much praise for our project, and the traffic into the park has greatly grown from our efforts to  beaufity the park and make it's overall improvement.
