INDABA Nicaragua

1st Jan 2008

INDABA is a Zulu word for 'chief's meeting'. In line with Strategic Priority 6: An Organization for the 21st Century, the Scout Association of Nicaragua has developed a new dynamic model of INDABA, creating an opportunity for all Scout leaders and young adults of the senior Scout sections to meet and set their national Strategic Priorities for Scouting in Nicaragua.

This year's national INDABA took place at the National Sports Institute in Nicaragua's capital city, Managua from 18 – 20 July 2008.

Scout leaders and young adults of the senior sections from all over the country got together and designed a shared vision for 2008 – 2012, a new strategic approach to the community, the communications strategy and the renewal of some of the institutional frameworks of the Association.

Many workshops where held in order to provide staff and volunteers with all the tools necessary to ensure a quality programme. One of the key outcomes was the designing of group plans, which was done using the 'Lets make a Group Plan document', a very useful resource designed for the National Scout Organisations of the Interamerica Region and produced by the Guide and Scout Association of Chile.
