24. mar 2013

On 23rd March 2013, members of the National Scouts Association of Moldova (NSAM) had a great opportunity to meet and communicate directly with the First Lady of the Republic of Moldova – Mrs. Margareta Timofti.

The meeting was hosted by the President of NSAM – Mr.Sergiu Chirica, members of the National Council, Executive Bureau and Commissioners of Branches. At the meeting were invited Executive Director of the Regional Bureau EURASIA WSB - Mr.Iurie Emilian and member of the Regional Committee – Mrs.Valentina Ursu.

There was presented the fruitful activity of NSAM and the problems faced over the last 20 years. And once again, everyone concluded how important and necessary is the scouting for actual society.

First Lady was impressed by the beneficial results that scout method has on children and youth and came up with the idea that it is necessary to write a law project that would allow supporting and further development of scouting in Moldova, and further its submission to the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Moldova.

Since this was the first meeting with Moldova Scouts, First Lady expressed herself as being open for further dialog. After this meeting followed the National Council ordinary meeting where have been discussed current issues NSAM is facing. As a result of this reunion there were found real solutions to be implemented as soon as possible.
