New headquarters for the Interamerican Scout Office

The agreement to lease the building number 172 in the City of Knowledge in Panama, which will be the new home of the headquarters for the Interamerican Scout Office, was signed in the presence of several Scouts members of the Interamerican region. This act officially launched the establishment of the Interamerican Scout Office in Panama. One of the following steps, will be the development of an architectural project to design the interior of the facility.

The City of Knowledge is located in Panama City, near the famous Miraflores Locks. In the past, its buildings were used to house a United States Army military base, when the Panama Canal was run by this nation.

The City of Knowledge already hosts various international agencies such as the Red Cross and some UN agencies.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Julio Arosemena, Executive Director of the City of Knowledge Foundation and the legal representative of the World Scout Bureau, Interamerican Region, Mr. Carlos Torres. This ceremony was witnessed by members of the Interamerican Scout Committee: Ronald Castro, Nigel Taylor, Fernando Brodesci and Gilberto Mendoza, as well as Victor Winter a Scout leader from the National Scout Association of Panama and finally the Regional Director, Raul Sanchez Vaca.
