Under the patronage of his Excellency and his honored attendance of the event Mr. Moncef Al- Marzuki, Tunisia President; the 19th Arab Scout Moot was inaugurated in the international training and camping centre, Borj Cedria- Tunisia.
The event which is being held from 20 to 28 of Aug. 2013 is being participated by some of 432 rovers representing 8 Arab NSOs as follows: Jordan (1), Tunisia (234), Algeria (70), Oman (22), KSA (18), Qatar (10), Kuwait (2), Libya (63), Egypt (8) and Arab Regional Office (4).
The opening ceremony which was honored with attendance of H.E. Tunisian Mr. president was attended by the Dr. Atif Abdelmageed- Arab Scout Regional Director, Mr. Ali Fathallah- Commissioner General , Tunisia Scout Association, Mr. Wahid Al- Obeidi- vice chairman- World Scout Committee, the governors, ambassadors, key scout leaders, general scout leaders of the participating Arab rover contingents, staff members of the Arab Scout Regional Office and a large number of reading & audio visual media representatives as well as the participants.
The program of the opening ceremony which included a visit of Mr. President to the exhibitions of the participating NSOs, watching the participating countries' queue, and a visit to the different workshops of the developing village, scheduled four folkloric shows presenting the history of Tunisia, deliver poems, raising the national flags of the participating NSOs, singing the national anthem and the moot song.
Speeches of Leader Al- shazli Almohammady – the leader of the 19th Arab Scout Moot, and of both Mr. Ali Fathallah & Dr. Atif Abdelmageed; were scheduled, where the opening ceremony was closed by the speech of H.E. Mr. president in which he praised the scout movement and its important roles in the communities. He – also- stressed that youth are the hope and the power of the future on which all Arab countries depend upon.
The activities of the Moot were divided into 3 sub- camps where the program scheduled three outdoor awareness and developing activities in Al- zriba and Nabeul, as well as See adventure and culture ones in Bizerte.
On the other hand, the Developing Village included different workshops in the fields of science, technology, environment, health, culture, arts, human development and messengers of peace.
In line with the named event, two important and relevant seminars are being held where the first is for Crew scout leaders on the role of the scout movement in the elimination of disaster risks whereas the second one is for the scout leaders on the characteristics of rover section. The tow seminars aim at coming out of a road map to work with throughout the coming period
