Singapore’s Amazing Trail turns 6

20th Jul 2011

Continuously pursuing one of Singapore Scout Association’s strategic thrusts ‘Scouting builds Families’ and ‘Scouting builds Community,’ the Henry Park Pelican Scout Unit organized the Amazing Trail 2011 on 25th June, involving more than 300 Cub Scouts and parents from Henry Park and ACS (Barker Road) Primary.

The year's Amazing Trail, puts together Cub Scouts and their parents or accompanying adults in an activity that highlights the key elements of Scouting within the family and in the community.

Grouped under different teams, participants travelled by public transport and scoured the entire island of Singapore to locate the pre-selected number of unusual places and find out more about it and perform certain assignments.

In doing so, Scouting builds up family in community by finding a deeper knowledge of unusual places in a unique Scouting way.

Chief Commissioner Mr Tan Cheng Kiong, along with many senior commissioners, graced the event, which was the 6th in the annual series of the “Amazing Trails” which were all well-received not only by Scouts but by the community.

SSA, known for its “urban Scouting”, believes in extending Scouting to more young people in every part of community who are willing to take part in a fun-filled, exciting activities and programme where they can discover, learn and put into practice their life skills by serving others.
