Panama Scouts Get Involved - National Youth Forum

Under the slogan "Youth that involves and gets involved", young people from the National Scout Association of Panama gathered on March 30 to participate in the National Youth Forum. This event, convened with the purpose of providing a space for gathering, for dialogue and active participation, brought together 75 young people representing 14 Scout groups in the country.

The National Youth Forum is an ongoing initiative that seeks to empower, train and connect Scouts, providing them with a safe and appropriate environment to express their opinions, present their views and discuss ideas on relevant issues. It also aims to strengthen young people's sense of belonging and civic commitment to society.

This Forum is one of the most important events in Scouts of Panama calendar , as it brings together young people from different regions of the country and gives them the opportunity to interact and share experiences.

One of the main topics addressed was "Safe from Harm", where participants had the opportunity to create proposals to strengthen support networks among young people. In addition, they worked on proposals for community projects to address issues related to the environment, peace and sustainable development, aligned with the Scouts for the SDGs initiative.

The event also included a panel of guests who held a dialogue on Youth Engagement, where aspects related to leadership, decision making and constant work were highlighted.

"I enjoyed the conversation with the panelists. As a finance and international business student, my focus is to create my own business/enterprise, and the panel touched on topics that are directly related to leadership, taking initiative and hard work. These are all essential skills that someone in my field can put into practice, which makes them important and motivating to me."
