Make every hour count, starting this Earth Hour

3 minutes

Let's get ready to unite, power down, and make a difference!

This year on 23 March, the Scout Movement will join WWF and millions of young people around the world for Earth Hour to go electricity-free for one hour and use this moment to connect with our precious planet. The annual event is an opportunity to give back to the earth that sustains us, and we want YOU to be part of the action.

Earth Hour isn't just about switching off lights for 60 minutes. It's a global movement to raise awareness about climate change, and inspire action to protect planet earth. It's also about realising that small actions, when done together, can have a big impact!

Think about it: when we turn off our lights, we're not just saving energy. We're taking a moment to reflect on our daily consumption habits and the impact they have on the planet. We're also showing solidarity with those who still lack access to reliable, sustainable or affordable energy sources, appreciating the simple things we sometimes take for granted.

Earth Hour is great start to thinking about energy consumption and sustainable practices. But as Scouts, we know that real change requires ongoing commitment. That's why we've put together a series of activities to practice in your daily life to help you make a lasting difference. From reducing carbon emissions to earning your Champions for Nature Challenge badge, there are so many ways to get involved and become part of the Earth Tribe, and join a community of young leaders working to create climate-resilient communities.

We made it easy for you to take action. Learn from the activities below, make a commitment, and join the Earth Tribe!
