The event, being hosted by the Korea Scout Association with support from government partners and local authorities, will take place from 1 to 12 August on a 3,000-acre campsite in SaeManGeum, Jeollabuk-do province. Over the course of 12 days, young people between the ages of 14 and 17 will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take part in a wide range of educational programmes and outdoor adventure activities that promote peace, sustainability, cross-cultural exchange, and leadership skills.

"The Jamboree offers incredible opportunity for young people to experience Scouting’s transformative educational programme, and celebrate the diversity and unity of our worldwide movement,” said Ahmad Alhendawi, Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement.

We are creating a unique experience for young people to connect, learn from one other, and get inspired as active global citizens to tackle some of the most pressing issues facing our planet.

Scouts and adult volunteers will also experience an exciting opening ceremonies show on 2 August featuring Korean cultural performances, K-pop and orchestra musical acts, multimedia and drone light shows, and special guests such as Bear Grylls, Chief Ambassador of World Scouting. An International Culture Day on 6 August and a closing ceremonies show on 11 August will also happen throughout the event.

Various international partners including FAO, Generation Unlimited, International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, Islamic Relief Worldwide, KAICIID, UNDP, UN Environment, UNFPA, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNODA, UN Women, World Health Organization, WWF International, and IM Swedish Development Partner will support the delivery of exhibitions and workshop sessions related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
