Bringing together about 50 Scouts from across Europe the Communications Forum was an amazing space full of ideas and creativity! From brainstorming the shape of the European Network of Communication to opening spaces for sharing practices on branding, Scout magazines and communication channels – the European Communications Forum wrapped up three days of best practices, networking and learning by doing designed to equip participants with knowledge and skills, inspiration and useful tools for communicating about Scouting.

Permi Vanek, a member of the Planning Team and Vice President of the Junák-Esteske Skaut (Czech Scout Organization) assessed the Forum as very successful; 'so many great ideas, useful tools, shared efforts or common challenges. All curious about how to best support the greatest educational adventure for young people we know (and share)’. He added ‘What a joy and privilege to be a part of this, learn from others and help the learning to happen!’.

Creating a space for volunteers and professionals dealing with the area of communications in the National Scout Organisations and Associations (NSOs/NSAs) has been a need of the European region to enable national staff and volunteers to exchange on how to improve the national public image of Scouting; learn how to effectively and successfully develop and improve communications strategies at national level, and build synergies and encourage networking and sharing of good practices between National Scout Organisations and Associations in the Region. The Communications Forum had not been held since 2018 due to COVID restrictions.

Over 50 volunteers and staff from 26 countries with varying professional backgrounds attended the Communications Forum. Within the Erasmus+ programme, the event took place from 26-30 October at Bundeszentrum Wassergspreng with the support of the European Commission.
