Greetings! Hope everything is well at your end. Today is a very special day. It's the Mandela Day. So, we need your support to keep his legacy alive. He freed an entire nation; he fought for peace and changed the life of millions around the world. He was a true Messenger of Peace.
Thus, we would like to honor his example and inspire Scouts around the world to do the same for their local communities. No matter how small the action, Mandela Day is about changing the world for the better, just as Madiba did, every day.
We are joining the UN MY World team and the Nelson Mandela Foundation for a social media day of action 'Remembering Mandela' and we need your support to help us spread the word. As you might already be aware, the MY World initiative facilitates a global citizen vote at the United Nations, allowing people to have a direct say in shaping a better world through the post-2015 development goals.
The idea is to share one of the images we are sending attached, starting today and during next week, with the following message:
"What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others." Make every day a Mandela Day. Have your say in shaping a better world. Vote now: http://vote.myworld2015.org/scouts"
within your scout networks and groups. Please feel free to translate it into your own language.
