Scouts of Belgrade in Obrenovac 14.06.2014.
On Saturday 14.06.2014, members of the Scout Association of Belgrade were helping flooded Obrenovac population.
We departed from Belgrade from the parking lot in front of the Sava Centre at 8 am and arrived around 9 am in front of SKC Obrenovac. Here we received our working equipment from our hosts Bojana and Adisa (boots, gloves, masks, T-shirts, disinfectants, etc.) and went straight to work assignments.
We cleaned SKC Obrenovac, we packed and distributed packages for Red Cross, moving stuff from the houses and yards that were destroyed by a flood.
Mica electrician (Scout group Miodrag Milovanovic-Lune) first went to SKC Obrenovac. He repaired everything that could be repaired and then went from house to house where with his mastery many house appliances were repaired, he replaced a lot of connections, cables and removed defects wherever he could.
Granma Dikica (the oldest member of Scout group Miodrag Milovanovic-Lune) and her team packed up and distributed more than 3,000 packages for Obrenovac Red Cross.
We cleaned up a number of houses and yards and help wherever needed.
Our job was physically hard and demanding but the rewards are enormous.
Bring back to life something that is dying, elicit a smile from a sad heart, awaken hope that all is not lost and that we can fix it and re-create all.
The people of Obrenovac were delighted by work of our members.
Praises from Municipal leaders of Obrenovac, Obrenovac Youth Foundation, Red Cross Obrenovac and most importantly from the citizens themselves say a lot about our work.
Thank you to all members of the Scout Association of Belgrade who took part in this action.
