KSBSG: Landslide Rescue Mission and Radio Scout Training (SCOTA)

30. Jun 2014

As per the request received for the Hon. District Collector, the Radio Scouting Team of Kerala State Bharat Scouts and Guides operated the emergency control room at District Collectorate, Idukki with mobile units spreading the affected areas for spot reporting.

Another 2 teams were equipped with facilities to run the rescue missions at places like Cheeyappara and Naliyani.

A one day Radio Scouting camp (India's first SCOTA - Scout camp on the AIR), for rovers was held at Calvary mount, Idukki - preparing them to go with radio operations, which was helpful during rescue missions.
