Baguio Council Youth Forum

20th May 2014

The Council youth Forum is an activity held at the GSP office last January 30, 2014. The activity aims to voice out the opinions of the youth nowadays. Scouts submitted resolutions to be approved by the local government , if the resolutions win by chance they will be submitted to the regional and eventually, the National Offices. The orientation was started by the steering committee which included the DBHS scouts Ian Mangaoang and Apollo Mina. Jaydee Gatchalian and Lee Buyucan attended the forum as well and were the official representatives of Don Bosco High school. They were dispersed into 3 groups. Their resolutions contained movements such as having extra camping grounds for scouts, countering computer addiction, and disciplinary measures for scouts. Every resolution except for two passed. Scouts then had to vote and had to be tallied by the steering committee for their representatives for the Regionals. Lee Buyucan and Jaydee Gatchalian were among the top 6 delegates to be brought to Pangasinan. Unfortunately due to scheduling conflicts, their trip was discontinued. Nevertheless, their resolutions will be defended by the other scouts from Baguio. There has been sayings, that change must start now, from the youth right now, we should make a stand to help our community to have a better and brighter future ahead of us.
