Bangladesh Prime Minister inaugurates 1st SANSO Scout Jamboree

“Scouts, be ready at all times” was the message of Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina before the crowd of about 9,000 Scouts from the South Asian countries for the First South Asia National Scout Organizations (SANSO) Jamboree, held in Mouchak, Gazipur on 5 April 2014.
She also cited the past efforts of Scouts serving the victims of cyclone, flood and severe cold.
The Prime Minister assured support to turn Mouchak National Scout Training Centre into an international training complex and the construction of ‘Scout Bhavan’ in every district.
Notable leaders present at the occasion from the Bangladesh Scoutswere President Abdul Karim, Chairman of the Organizing Committee Hedayet Ullah All Mamun, and Chief National Commissioner and Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee member Md. Abul Kalam Azad, who also spoke at the same occasion.
The Prime Minister released pigeons and balloons to match the theme “Scouting for Peace and Harmony.”
Scouts demonstrated their many skills and talents and joined a wide selection of activities related to health and community, heritage and adventure.
