Venture Crew 43 Water Campaign

1. Mar 2014

Venture Crew 43 of Johns Creek, GA raised over $1500 to help fund a water project in a third world country through the nonprofit organization, charity: water. We created a water campaign over a period of three months to collect funds and spread the word about the water crisis in third world countries. To help support the campaign, we decided to create a charity 5K walk to help collect the remain amount of funds to reach our goal of $1500. It was a huge success; we collected over $300 from the walk.

At the end of the three month period, we raised $1597.17 and sent it to a water project in a third world country. This will give over 75 people water, plus it helps create a better society in the region around them. With the new well, water filtration system, or pump, the villagers wouldn't have to drag a jerrycan for kilometers to find the nearest pond and collect unsanitary water and walk back.
