A Handover Ceremony in the Founder’s Day
The Founder’s Day this year has a special meaning for all Scouts from Gerakan Pramuka, Indonesia. On February 22, 2014, the National Headquarters of Gerakan Pramuka held a handover ceremony from the Chairman/Chief Commissioner of Gerakan Pramuka 2008-2013, Azrul Azwar, to the new elected Chairman/Chief Commissioner of Gerakan Pramuka 2013-2018, Adhyaksa Dault.
The ceremony attended by both the National Commissioners from 2008-2013 period and the new National Commissioner. Also witnessed by the staff of Gerakan Pramuka NHQ.
In his speech, Azrul Azwar, mentioned a man name Robert Baden-Powell that later established the Scouting movement. This educational movement and organization has been proved for more than 100 years, that it can be the solution for young generation to develop themselves to become a good person and good citizen. Also, as Baden-Powell stated, through Scouting young people can learn how to contribute the positive way in their families, their communities, their countries, which can help to creating a better world for everyone.
