National workshop of Youth Programme in the Dominican Republic
1st Jan 2013
From February 15th to 17th a national workshop of Youth Programme was held in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The aim of this workshop was to unify criteria on Youth Programme relevant themes, identify the aspects that have generated more problems in its application, trying to find solutions to them.
It was an enthusiastic participation of 25 Scout leaders from various regions of the country, highlighting the high level of commitment of the participants to advance in the implementation of the Youth Programme. One of the most important results of the workshop is that some of the participants committed themselves to collaborate in the implementation of the programme in the strategic areas identified (cub scouts, ventures, rovers, outdoor, spirituality, education for love). At the same time, there was a favorable response to the idea of generating pilot groups for the implementation and monitoring of the Youth Programme.
Mauricio Veayra, Youth Programme director of the World Scout Bureau – Interamerican Region, coordinated the workshop.
