Networking for development

Under the Motto "Networking for development", the Arab Scout Regional Office launched a training workshop for Messengers of Peace Network Coordinators at the national level. The event is being held from 9 to 13 Feb. 2013 in Cairo International Scout Centre (CISC).

In his speech, Dr. Atif Abdelmageed – Arab Scout Regional Director; emphasized on the important role of the scout assistants in development process and constructing of their countries. Adding that – in this workshop- we are going to shift from classic training method which depends on one trainer and number of trainees to Coaching training method which depends on more than one trainer and number of facilitators, which is considered an advanced level of training.

It is supposed - at the end of the activities of the named workshop- to have a strong network throughout we change from communities' service phase to communities' development.
Dr. Abdelmageed shared his hope with the attendees that -by the end of 2013- they may succeed in achieving the optimum model in the number and quality of the implemented projects.
Closing his speech, the Arab Scout Regional director praised the Arab NSOs which carried out number of successful messengers of peace projects without any financial support from MOP.
On the other hand, Mr. Peter Illig – Director Global projects - called the participants to exert their utmost to make the scout movement more influential and of greater power to achieve hopes and ambitions of the Arab Region.
Moreover, Cynthia Márquez – Peter's assistant- added that the global team of MOP come today - for this important workshop- to work together to raise the principles of brotherhood, friendship and peace all over the world.
Some of 24 participants representing 10 Arab NSOs took part in the named workshop as follows: Jordan (1), Algeria (1), kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2), Sudan (1), Palestine (1), Qatar (1), Lebanon (1), Libya (3), Egypt (3), Yemen (2), ArRO (2), and WSB (6). Where number of important topics has been scheduled for the workshop among of them is the following: Why MOP – Why Network - Why Global Team, SWOT Analysis of MOP projects at national level, Building Messengers of peace Network, Storytelling, and communication with Global Network…etc.
