Joint in Penang International Coastal Cleanup 2013

Penang Rovers take part in Penang International Coastal Cleanup 2013 ~

This cleanup event was host by the Penang State government and open to public to take part. Report from State Assemblywoman Yap Soo Huey: In this event, overall, close to 1,000 participants (including 49 children below the age of 12) removed 2,093 kg of rubbish from the coastline of Gurney Drive. In total, 14,820 pieces of rubbish were collected.

Among the top items collected are:
- straws & stirrers
- food wrappers (candy, chips, etc)
- other plastic bags

Some of the unusual items collected were:
- RM5 note
- sanitary pad
- mosquito net
- helmet
- heater
