Scouts participate in 130 Km Peace Walk

Kenya - Kenya Scouts Association participated in a peace walk dubbed, “Education for Peace: Peace Begins with me”. The Walk was an initiative by the Peace Ambassadors Kenya, a national initiative of youths drawn from various institutions of higher learning in partnership with the Kenya Administration Police Service who offer patronage to the initiative.

More than 90 Scouts drawn from various groups in Kenya participated in the four-day Bungoma – Kapenguria Peace Walk from 17th to 21st September 2013, with an aim of spreading the message of creating a better world through peaceful coexistence.

The participants in the walk addressed public forums at various points along the route. The walk was a build up event to mark the International Day of Peace marked every 21st of September across the world. The walk involved three hundred (300) participants drawn from over thirty (30) Kenya institutions of higher learning across the country.
