“CONTACT 2013” is a project of Yokohama Nanoh district to make a contact with scouts in the world and establish a communication among scouts.
This is initiative project to create such communication by writing a message or letter on theme selected by scouts. A theme selected this year was “Share It” of JOTA-JOTI 2013. Each scout wrote “WHAT” he or she would like to share with the world and a reason of “WHY.”
This project was commenced prior to JOTA-JOTI event, so the messages of scouts are forward to the scout groups we have communication today and also posted on Web site to expect interaction response and used as a topic subject at JOTA-JOTI conversation.
Beavers, Cubs and Scouts from our district have participated in this project. Having them to think not just on “WHAT” but also on “WHY,” they will learn how to explain his or her intent to others in the world who may have different culture and value.
This project was solicited to groups of other district and region in Japan, and we have extended a support on completing and posting the messages to have them build up an experience. To have many groups from Japan to join this project and increase communication interactions globally among the scouts is the important underlying objective of this project.
(Note: After JOTA-JOTI, there is Christmas and New Year Message Exchange program scheduled by Yokohama Nanoh district of Japan.)
