Ways to help

Contributions to the World Scout Foundation, unless otherwise specified, are permanently invested in capital (endowment) funds. Income from the funds are used by the World Organization of the Scout Movement to assist the growth of Scouting, particularly in developing countries.

In certain countries, contributions to the Foundation offer tax benefits. More information is available on request.
The Foundation has a number of progammes which are explained below. In addition, there are opportunities to give financial support to specific projects.

The World Baden-Powell Fellowship

The Fellowship recognizes individuals for their financial contributions to the World Scout Foundation to help support Scouting around the world. Today there are more than 1,800 members of the Fellowship from 75 countries. Its members include prominent business, government and Scouting leaders who want to help bring better Scouting to more young people.

Fellowship receptions and other events are periodically held in different parts of the world to bring members together and to present insignia to new members. Most presentations are made by the Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation, His Majesty the King of Sweden.
• Members of the Fellowship include many husbands and wives, their children, and even their grandchildren.
• Memberships in the Fellowship are frequently offered as gifts by friends and relatives to recognize someone for a special occasion. Anonymous memberships are accepted.

The Honours Programme

The Honours Programme recognizes those who have attained higher levels of financial support to the World Scout Foundation.

The Benefactors' Circle honours those who have made gifts totaling US$25,000.
The International Circle honours those who have made gifts totaling US$50,000.
The Chairman's Circle honours those who have made gifts totaling US$100,000.
The Regal Circle honours those who have made gifts totaling US$1 million.

Recognition for attainment of these Circles of Membership is given on a special occasion, usually by the Honorary Chairman of the World Scout Foundation.

All gifts to the Foundation are counted toward achieving the four Circles of the Honors Programme. These include contributions made to the World Baden-Powell Fellowship, the Royal Birthday Appeal, and the Queen Silvia Fund.
