Habitat for Humanity International
Habitat for Humanity International, or Habitat, is an international Christian organisation dedicated to providing “simple, decent and affordable” housing.
Recognising that poverty housing is a significant social problem throughout the world, Habitat carries out several building projects outside of the United States. Houses are built using volunteer labor and are sold at no profit. Future homeowners are generally expected to assist in the construction of their homes.
Many of Habitat's projects arises as result of natural disaster. By constructing safe housing, Habitat provides long term solutions to the housing problems disaster victims face.
