International Commissioners’ Forum, 26-29 October 2006 in Denmark

Partnerships was the theme of the International Commissioners’ Forum that took place in Copenhagen, Denmark. Over 120 participants from National Scout Associations and Member Organizations were in attendance.

The programme included an update on the work of both the European Scout Region and Europe Region WAGGGS, discussions on the type of support required from the regions as well as inputs on partnership from external and internal sources. In particular, input was provided on the work being undertaken together between WOSM and WAGGGS and it was noted that there would not be a joint plan for the coming triennium, but that there would be closely connected joint work.
The Secretary General of WOSM and Chief Executive of WAGGGS were also present and provided input. Lesley Bulman Lever, Chief Executive of WAGGGS, gave a moving last speech before she demits office at the end of the year.
A series of workshops as well as informal discussions ensured that the event was a great success, with all looking forward with anticipation to the conferences in Slovenia in May 2007.
