'I am happy to have taken part in the World Scout Conference', says a Congolese Scout
Patience Mabaku Lubuaku is a Scout from the Democratic Republic of Congo. During her visit, on 24 July 2008, at the Africa Regional Office in Nairobi, after the World conference, she spoke about her experience in Korea.
“I represented my country at the World Youth Forum at Iksan, and at the World Scout Conference, on Jeju Island, in Korea and I am very happy for that. I thank the World Scout Bureau for the opportunity to take part in this event”, she said.
The 38th World Scout Conference was held from 14 to 18 July 2008 on Jeju Island, Korea. It was attended by 1189 participants from 150 countries. Hosted by the Korea Scout Association, The Conference was officially opened by Dr. Han Seung-soo, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea.
Besides the official sessions and workshops, participants had the opportunity to take part in a an interesting evening programme and an educational tour of Jeju Island.
